Services

  • A free 30-minute free consultation offers a gentle, no-pressure space to explore how end-of-life doula support can help you and your loved ones. During this conversation, you are invited to share your situation, ask questions, and express any fears, hopes, or concerns you may have.

Together, we will discuss the types of support available—practical, emotional, and spiritual—and what feels most aligned with your needs and values. This time also allows us to get a sense of one another, so you can decide whether this kind of care feels like the right fit for you.

  • Grief counselling offers a safe, compassionate space to hold your story and your pain. Together, we explore ways to honour your loss, nurture healing, and find light in the midst of change—at a pace that feels right for you.

  • End-of-life discussions create space for honest, heartfelt conversation about wishes, fears, and the meaning of this sacred time. With gentle guidance and deep respect, we help you and your loved ones share what matters most and find ease in planning for the journey ahead.

  • End-of-life planning offers a compassionate and supportive way to bring clarity, comfort, and peace of mind to you and those you love. Through gentle conversations, we explore your options for end of life including Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), and your values, wishes, and practical considerations—ensuring your choices are clearly understood and respectfully honoured. This process helps reduce uncertainty for loved ones while allowing you to approach the end of life with a deeper sense of calm and purpose.

Our work together may also include legacy and meaning-making projects, such as guided letter writing, audio or video recordings, personal rituals, or creative reflections that celebrate your life story and convey meaningful messages to those you cherish.

  • End-of-life support offers a calm, caring presence for you and your loved ones through the final stages of life. With compassion and gentle guidance, we provide emotional, practical, and spiritual care—helping each moment unfold with peace, dignity, and love.

    Our end-of-life support can include:

    • Ongoing death doula support: Non-medical support before, during, and after end of life, including regular check-ins, tailored resources, advocacy with the care team, and a steady, calming presence throughout the dying process.

    • Vigil and bedside presence: Bedside vigil and compassionate presence in the final days and hours, supporting the dying person, loved ones, and caregivers with grounding, comfort, and practical guidance.

    • After death and early grief support: Short-term support for families after a death, including gentle check-ins, space to process the experience, and guidance toward ongoing grief resources and counseling when needed.

  • " When a diagnosis puts you face to face with the end of your life, you go into a sort of shock. You need more than friends and family at that point; you need to connect with someone like Carolyn. You need to grieve with the guidance of a professional. Indeed, I was already grieving the loss of a sister that year, sharpening my need to process a tumult of sadness, fright, anger, even panic attacks. I was fortunate to meet Carolyn at that juncture. Her quiet, warm and empathetic manner, her professionalism and life experience, even her book recommendations, allowed me to start navigating the difficult path between acceptance and denial, grief and courage, and to tackle issues that such an abrupt change of life brings to light. She has given me strength, and is the one I want beside me if and when I opt for MAiD. In short, Carolyn is a rare person, a gift." Pam W.

  • “Carolyn has offered compassionate support as I navigated the death of an intimate partner. In 1:1 counselling, she made space for my sexuality as well as my grief, which is not an easy combination to find. It’s clear she brings skills from her professional experience as a mental health nurse, in addition to her compassion and hard-won personal experience of loss. She will truly be a guiding light for the families who work with her as an End of Life Doula.” SB

  • “Carolyn is warm and kind and very easy to talk to. Her guidance helps me in many practical ways and in negotiating the emotional ups and downs of this difficult journey. I find our conversations change the way I look at the future!” Kelly M.
